Performing Arts

We value the social and emotional development gained by participation in the arts. Through participation in the Performing Arts program, our students learn to be collaborative, creative and confident. Our philosophy is that skill and experience should not be a barrier to participation in the arts. Proudly, this sits within the tradition of excellence in the arts valued highly by the school. Our groups are supported and nurtured by highly skilled teachers, tutors and leaders.

Scots is renowned for its quality and variety of musical opportunities. We have a large range of choral groups and instrumental ensembles, some open and others auditioned. Our musical groups perform frequently throughout the year and many, like our hard working Pipe Band, are a feature of life at Scots.

Annual drama musical productions form a major part of the life of the school. Our production team is an experienced and cohesive unit, with specialist skills in lighting, sound, set, stage management and costume.

Dance is one of our most popular activities, with open classes and competition troupes. Visual arts exhibitions and opportunities, and strong participation in public speaking and debating also contribute to our vibrant school life.
