MY School Scholarships
The Scots School Albury is proud to announce the establishent of the MY School Scholarship for students commencing their Middle Years of schooling. This scholarship is open to all students, current and future, entering Years 5 or 6 at The Scots School Albury and is assessed during April/May for commencement the following year.
Applicants are required to demonstrate achievement and involvement in the Academic, Sporting, Performing Arts (Music, Speech & Drama, Theatre) and Community Service disciplines. They will have attained significant achievements in at least TWO disciplines and should be able to demonstrate significant involvement in at least ONE of the other two disciplines.
MY School Scholarship is for the duration of the Middle Years of schooling, concluding at the student's completion of Year 8. The Scholarship is reviewed at the end of Year 6.
(It should be noted that during Year 8 the successful applicant is also eligible to apply for a Year 9 Academic, Music or Boarding Scholarship, open to current and future students entering Year 9 at The Scots School Albury).
MY School Scholarship Application Requirements
As part of the application process, applicants are required to submit a letter of application and a personal portfolio with achievements, awards, references, school reports and assessments related to each discipline.
Student C.V's should include:
- Photocopies of latest school reports.
- Photocopies of participation in National Maths/Science/English competitions.
- Evidence of participation in Eisteddfods.
- Copies of significant certificates and reports received.
- Records of participation and achievement in Sport (eg football/hockey/cricket/netball/basketball/snow skiing/water skiing/mountain bike riding/horse riding/swimming/diving).
- Evidence of participation in community activities (eg Meals on Wheels, Red Cross Door Knock Appeal, Girl Guides, Scouts).
ASSESSMENT
A short list of applicants are interviewed by the Principal and Head of Primary, and each applicant is required to sit a Mathematics test and an English test.
