This week marks the end of boarding for most of our Year 12 boarders. They have been working through their exams and travelling backwards and forwards from home when they have had the need for a few days break. It is sad to see them packing up to leave for the last time, but their time has come and now it's off into the big wide world!

Meanwhile, the juniors have been busy preparing for exams. Year 10 start next week with the School Certificate and then move straight into the school examinations.

The Boarding House Leadership team from Year 11 includes the new Boarding Captains - Hannah Jeffcott and Mason Clifton; Prefects - Robbert Hanna, Liberty Gadd & Patrick McNamara; House Captains - Anne-Marie Hoodless, Georgina Davis and Michael Gregory; along with the Heads of House (which we have introduced this year) who are:

  • Grammar - Annalee Trethowan & Charles Kerr
  • Rosehill - Jocelyn Smith, Nigel Colman & Alistair Gordon
  • Glenayr - Jacqueline Atteridge and Callum Holt
  • Woodstock - Meredith Jones and Nicholas Kerr

The rest of Year 11 will become Boarding Seniors with areas of special responsibility. For example Angus Trethowan is introducing a program to involve younger boarders in a fitness program to help them prepare for their various sports.

This week Glenayr have been responsible for the gardens which we planted at the BPG in May. They have been watering and weeding and the plants have come along nicely.

Each Thursday a house group enjoys a BBQ at the pool and tennis courts. The Heads of House organize some games and cook the BBQ.

There were many favourable comments about the performance of our boarding students at the recent Parent/Teacher interviews.

Prep Supervision has been improved significantly through the relocation of all the juniors to the centralized Library area where our Tutor/Supervisors have arranged time management strategies and study hints to assist them with their work.

Our tutors - Scott, John, Riza & Samantha are available for the Year 11 boarders in the Houses, and I would be happy to see more students making use of their valuable skills.
