UNDER 11

SCOTS 4/64 were defeated by St. Patricks 2/83

In a most entertaining match the boys bowled first and restricted St. Patricks to 2/83.

A great catch by Umberto Martinotti (Year 3) off the bowling of Jacob Posel (Year 3) complemented the earlier wicket attained by Thomas Baker (Year 5).

When it was our turn to bat the opposition bowlers bowled a steady line and we found some difficulty piercing the field. Our final total of 4/64 was a pretty good result in the circumstances.

Owen Stuchbery (Year 4) and Jacob Posel (Year 3) top scored (behind wides and no-balls) with 4 runs a-piece, both retired not/out. Mahalah Mullins (Year 5), Thomas Baker (Year 5) and George Henderson (Year 3) also finished not/out.

We look forward to our next game where we hope to bowl a little bit straighter.

UNDER 13

Progressive scores: SCOTS 8/66 - East Albury 6/75

A good first up performance was recorded by SCOTS. Bowling first we restricted East Albury to an attainable 75.

Wicket takers were: Fraser Rimmington (Year 6) - 1/7, Willam Mullins (Year 6) -  1/4, James Ring (Year 6) - 1/5, William Setterfield (Year 5) - 1/2 and Oliver Hendriks (Year 6) - 1/5.  Oliver Bradford (Year 5), Joseph Davies (Year 6) and Blake Minall (Year 6) held onto a catch each.

When it was our turn to bat some solid bowling made the challenge tough, but nonetheless we managed to get within 9 runs of victory.

Top scorer was Fraser Rimmington (12 n/o - a good double) who was well supported by Paul Libreri (Year 6) - (5), and William Setterfield (7 n/o).

The other good result of the day was Matteo Pitteri (Year 6) and Andrew Spinelli (Year 6) both remaining not/out.

UNDER 15/DIVISION 2

Opposition: Mount Beauty

Date: 31/10/09

Venue: Gillespie Oval

Score: Scots 94 all out, Mt Beauty 2 for 28

Best Batsmen: Harrison McIntosh (Year 8) - (11 n/o), Jack Wotherspoon (Year 7) & Risdon Weatherall (Year 8) - (9).

Report: On the first day of a two day game at home, SCOTS found it difficult to score runs against a steady Mt Beauty bowling attack, highlighted by only one 4 being hit in our innings.

Our total of 94 off 37 overs means that we will have to bowl and field very well this coming Saturday to defend our score.
