Next week sees the annual Grandparents Day held on Friday at the School.
Part of the program includes a concert which will be held in the Chapel Hall, demonstrating some of the musical groups from our School.
Those performing will include:
Remembrance Service held at Scots
Last Wednesday, 11th November, the annual Remembrance Service was held at School.
This is always a distinguished event in the School’s life. The challenge of playing the Last Post was this year taken up by Makoto Suwama (Year 11) on trombone, who did a fantastic job at very short notice.
Scots Dance Concert 24/11
The Scots Dance Concert is on in the Chapel Hall on Tuesday 24th November at 7.30pm.
This promises to be a very entertaining evening. Each group (Infants, Primary and two Secondary classes) have prepared their routines, and there is a Michael Jackson tribute combining all classes that promises to be fantastic!
Theatre @ Scots
What a wonderful excursion we had to see Chicago in Melbourne. The students behaved in an exemplary manner and it was lovely to have staff and other community members take advantage of the opportunity to see this exciting production. Hopefully some of the techniques will not only help the senior Drama students, but also those who have to perform in our next musical!
Student Selected for Gondwana Voices Choir
Oliver Hendriks (Year 6) has continued the Scots’ great tradition of having singers chosen for inclusion in the national children’s choir of Australia - Gondwana Voices, by being selected for the January season of this world-renowned choir.
Music Lessons During Exam Weeks
Next week is Exam Week in the Secondary School.
There will be interruptions to the school week and the Cultural Centre will be out-of-bounds from Monday-Thursday.
Visiting teachers have been asked (where possible) to make up lessons that are missed during this period. Some lessons will be taught in the Pipe Band rooms, others made up later.
Chorale Impress at Scots St. David's Church Service
Last Sunday, November 8th, the 9.30am service at St. David’s Uniting Church Albury was a Scots service, with our Principal, Chaplain, and Music Department staff involved in all aspects of the service.
Primary Strings to Perform Mega-Item at GP Day
Primary Strings students will showcase their collective skills at the annual Grandparents and Special Friends Day on Friday, 27th November.
The Year 1 & Year 2 students will perform Rainbow Music; the 3s and 4s - a Christmas carol (easily identified by the audience); and the 5s and 6s - a medley of Eine Kleine and La Bamba.
