LOTE Festival Prize Winners
It is with great pleasure that we announce the students who did so well in the recent Border Modern Language Teachers Association (BMLTA) LOTE Festival Language Competition.
The Scots School Albury had students entered in each of the various categories and age groups, and their efforts were rewarded with a wonderful set of results.

Scots Blood Donors Challenge 2009/10
Robertson House are once again running the Scots Blood Donors Challenge as their community service activity from Term 4 2009-Term 3 2010. This will be run in conjunction with the Albury Blood Bank who will keep a record of donors in a register at their headquarters in David St.

Movember Fundraiser
Mr Cleeland is growing a moustache this year for Movember. I have made an arrangement with him to put down his razor for one month (November) to help raise awareness and funds for men's health - specifically prostate cancer and depression in men. Mr Cleeland grows the moustache - and because I am his fundraising manager, I get to shave each day!

Scots Wins 2009 Solar Car Challenge!

On Friday 23rd October 2009, a group of nine Year 9 & 10 hikers and two teachers (Mr Edwards and Ms Turner) left the clock tower at 4 o'clock for another weekend away hiking. The destination this time was Mt Jagungal - Australia's eighth highest mountain, located in the Kosciusko National Park.

In a recent Sydney Morning Herald article (July 22nd 2009) journalist Adele Horn discussed the importance of positive parent behaviour at the sporting field. In her article she outlined research which links outbursts of parent anger to the anger expressed in road rage. An interesting connection!

News from Boarding Wk 3B
This week marks the end of boarding for most of our Year 12 boarders. They have been working through their exams and travelling backwards and forwards from home when they have had the need for a few days break. It is sad to see them packing up to leave for the last time, but their time has come and now it's off into the big wide world!
Music Lessons During Exam Weeks
Examinations will be commencing in the secondary school over the coming weeks. These will involve interruptions to normal routines and in Week 5 the Cultural Centre will be out-of-bounds during examination periods.
