HSC CLASS OF 2007 OVERVIEW

Congratulations to the 96 students of the Class of 2007 for their outstanding achievements in their Higher School Certificate.

The school community acknowledges the exceptional effort made by these students as well as the commitment made by family, friends and the staff of the school in supporting and facilitating students to achieve their goals.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Nicholas Rennick awarded Dux and winner of The Scots School Medal for highest UAI 99.35
  • Nicholas Rennick and Rian Finnegan recognised for their All Round Achievement in the HSC scoring Band 6 results or equivalent in at least 10 units
  • Jaimie Kelly attained Band 6 in 4 subjects
  • Anna Whittaker placed 8th in the State in General Mathematics - 97
  • Highest result in a subject Isobel Sloan Ancient History - 98
  • 28 students scored at least one result in Band 6 (>90) or Band E4 (>45) placing them in the Distinguished Achievers List in 22 subjects
  • 53 results greater than 90
  • 83% of all results greater than 70 (2 Unit and Extension subjects)
  • Julian Stirling and Cameron McCleary - Design and Technology projects nominated for DesignTECH

SUBJECT RESULTS

Best Performing Subjects > 10 % points above State Average

  • Ancient History 13.75% 5 students Band 6, 7 students Band 5 (86%>80)
  • Music 10.31 %  4 students Band 6, 5 students Band 5 (100% >80)

High Performing Subjects <10 - >7% points above State Average

  • Personal Development Health and Physical Education 9.64%
  • Business Studies 8.21%
  • Physics 7.79%
  • Modern History 7.58%
  • Legal Studies 7.11%

The criteria for the All Rounders Awards is Band 6 results (an HSC mark of at least 90/100) for courses totalling ten or more units.

2007 ALL ROUNDERS

Congratulations to Nicholas Rennick (Dux of 2007) and Rian Finnegan on being recognised for their All Round Achievement in the HSC achieving Band 6 (greater than 90) in 2 Unit subjects or Band E4 (greater than 45/50) for 1 Unit Courses, totalling 10 or more units.

Nicholas achieved Band 6 in every subject he attempted, including Japanese Continuers that he completed in Year 2006(Chemistry, English Advanced, Mathematics Extension 1, Mathematics Extension 2, Physics, Japanese Extension). Rian achieved Band 6 or Band E4 in 10 units (Chemistry, Mathematics Extension 1, Mathematics Extension 2, Modern History, Physics).

In addition Jaimie Kelly performed exceptionally gaining four Band 6 results.

2007 TOP ACHIEVER

Anna Whittaker was identified as a Top Achiever in one subject:

  • Ranked 8th in the State in General Mathematics

The highest individual subject result was a score of 98 achieved by Isobel Sloan in Ancient History

UNIVERSITY ADMISSIONS INDEX

In 2007 the Highest UAI result was 99.35 achieved by Nicholas Rennick who is the recipient of the 2007 Scots School Medal for this outstanding result.  Congratulations on such an impressive performance.

NSW schools do not receive the University Admission Index (UAI) from the universities but rely upon students to inform the school of their results.
