ICPA

Printer-friendly version

The Isolated Children's Parents' Association (ICPA), begun as a local movement in the 1970’s, has today expanded to become a nation wide organisation.

ICPA seeks equity of education, from pre-school to tertiary, for students from rural and remote areas and is a completely voluntary organisation.

ICPA has had representation on a number of Government and Departmental Committees examining a range of educational problems.

The areas addressed by ICPA include Allowances, Boarding and Agricultural High Schools, Communications, Country Areas Programme (CAP), Curriculum, Distance Education, Early Childhood, Hostels, Rural Schools, Special Education, Tertiary Education and Travel.

ICPA is the only parent group that supports both government and non government systems of education. It liaises regularly with both the Association of Independent Schools and the NSW Parents Council.
