Pastoral Care

Printer-friendly version

At the foundation of our school philosophy is the nurturing provided to all students through our extensive Pastoral Care program.

Pastoral Care

The outcomes of this program are directed at developing a happy, contented and valued student, who is encouraged to achieve through a love of learning.

At Scots, our aim is to utilise the principles of this program to provide support and a well rounded education for our students. At Scots, our staff members take a keen interest in assisting each child to reach his or her full potential.

To achieve this we emphasise and encourage a disciplined approach to study through the consolidation of basic learning skills, the development of good study and work habits, the exposure of students to a diversity of subjects, and the involvement of specialist teachers.

Our Home Room Teachers, the School Chaplain & Student Counsellor, Transition Programs, Buddy Programs, Primary/Secondary Programs, Student Leaders and the House system, all collectively contribute to create a strong sense of belonging and support for our students within our school community.

As a values-based co-educational school, Scots is able to engender a sense of belonging, family and community among our students with the Pastoral Care programs play an integral role in strengthening the well being and self esteem of students attending the School.
