Agriculture 3

Students at Scots have the opportunity to compete at the Melbourne Show as well as a number of regional agricultural shows. These events provide numerous opportunities for students to compete as Junior Judges, Handlers and Stewards.

Many local breeders welcome the inclusion of student representatives from a number of regional schools, who assist them in showing their sheep.  This hands-on activity as well as the advice given by the breeders, provides invaluable experience for all students who attend.

The additional assistance received from the Poll Dorset Association has enabled the school to become more competitive, enhancing the learning opportunities and outcomes for the students.

Scots students have also been awarded a number of places, when competing locally against several established breeders in the region. This result is outstanding for Scots, who have only been showing sheep since 2002.
