Enrolment Process

Your child’s education is one of the most important decisions you can make about their future. To assist in the navigation of thisIMG_6248 procedure below is a step-by-step process. Please note this is a general process and if your child is not enrolling for the start of the school year these steps may vary.

As we are a non-selective School, students are placed on our waiting list according to the date on which we receive your Application for Enrolment Form. Our places fill quickly, so we advise families to send in the Application for Enrolment Form as early as possible.

We also invite you to visit the campus, meet our students, Principal and staff at the time that suits you.

At Scots, we welcome Scholarship Applications from students not yet attending Scots as well as current students.

Step 1

Request an application pack
You can request an Information Pack online or phone our Enrolments Team for a copy to be sent to you. Alternatively, if you’re in the neighbourhood you are welcome to visit the School and collect a copy. To book a School visit please email us, or find out how you can experience Scots

Step 2 Complete an application form
To apply for a place at Scots complete the Application for Enrolment Form that you received with the prospectus and return it to our Enrolments Officer. You also need to pay an Application Fee of $150 (includes GST) per student (or $250 per family when all siblings apply concurrently).Your application needs to be supported by written credentials (such as copies of reports, birth certificates, etc). Full details of our Enrolment Policy can be found here

Additional criteria apply for International students – please view here.

Once the application is received you will receive a receipt of the application and your child’s name will be placed on a waiting list for the Year nominated and we will also add you to our database to ensure you are invited to relevant school events.

Step 3

Interview
When we receive your completed application form and application fee we’ll contact you to arrange an interview with either our Principal or Head Junior School. While this is usually about 18 months before your child would expect to start at Scots, we do accept applications during the year for all levels. Prior to the interview taking place, any current school reports will need to be submitted.

Step 4 On selection
Students are offered a place formally in writing. When you accept the offer you will be asked to pay a non-refundable entrance fee of $500 per family in order to accept the place. Often this will be a year or more ahead of your child’s starting date, though on occasion students start immediately if the situation allows. Once payment has been received, formal confirmation of the place is provided.Further information on fees can be found here
Step 5

Orientation
All new students beginning the following year participate in a formal orientation program in November where they meet fellow students and teachers for the year ahead.

We also have a comprehensive orientation program to make sure that before our Kinders even start the school year they have played in the playground, seen their classroom and had morning tea with their teacher and classmates.

Step 6 Prior to commencement you will receive an information pack which includes information about the Uniform Shop, first day outline, a password for Scots Parent Portal, consent forms, book lists and other useful information.
Step 7

Starting School
If starting at the beginning of a year, new students start a day earlier allowing them time to find their way around the campus, meet fellow students and teachers and collect their student diary and set their locker up. This allows students to feel completely organised and ready for the School year ahead.

If you have any questions about this process please do not hesitate to contact our Enrolments officer.
