About the Applicant
Are you a passionate mathematics teacher with a hankering for the ultimate work/life balance?


This role would suit someone sick of long city commutes and keen for an opportunity to live in one of the most beautiful regional areas along the NSW/Victorian Border. The successful applicants will have Qualifications in Teaching and or Education that allow registration as a Teacher in NSW and experience in relevant subject areas. 

This position falls within the Mathematics and PDHPE Learning Area at Scots. The collaborative science team is waiting to welcome a dedicated teacher who is happy to show initiative and wants to grow their knowledge and share their expertise. There is opportunity for advancement and room to follow their own co-curricular interest.

2024 Boarding House Assistant - Sellars House (Boys Boarding)

About the role

A Scots Boarding House Assistant provides a vital link for the care and support of our Boarders as directed by the Director of Boarding and Head of Wilson House (girls) and Head of Sellars House (boys). This position will have full duty of care to all boarding students and offer support to the students while living away from home in a boarding environment.

You may be rostered to work any time during school term time, Monday – Sunday, including overnight shifts. There is an expectation that all casual Boarding staff complete their qualifications in ABSA Duty of Care Book 1 & 2 prior to or during their first term of employment. Boarding staff are also required to attend Professional Learning days as directed by the Director of Boarding.

During your shifts, you will be expected to eat your meals with the Boarding students in the Dining Hall at the designated times. These meals are included in your salary (as per the MEA).

About the applicant

The successful applicant will have:

  • Qualifications in ABSA Duty of Care Book 1 & 2 or willingness to obtain.
  • A high level of proficiency in working with young people in a residential setting.
  • Previous residential care and supervision experience. 
  • Awareness of Australian Boarding Standards.
  • Demonstrated experience, working knowledge and experience in schools and ideally, in independent school settings.
  • Current full driver’s licence. (Willingness to obtain MR Bus licence)
    First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain.
