The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award is a global framework for non-formal education and learning, which challenges young people to discover their potential and find their purpose, passion and place in the world.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award has a long history at The Scots School Albury, providing the opportunity for students from Year 9 to Year 12 to develop skills, get physically active, give service and experience adventure. The Award is comprised of three levels (Bronze, Silver or Gold) and four sections (Voluntary Service, Physical Recreation, Service and Adventurous Journey). Participants complete all four sections at each level in order to achieve their Award, with the guidance of staff every step of the way. A number of expeditions are arranged throughout the school year, with many students completing the full award in their time with the school.
