Mia Crowned Champion at Australian Youth Dressage Championships

Thursday, 12 Mar 2026

Congratulations to Mia Baxter (Year 10), who has enjoyed an outstanding start to the year in the saddle, being named Elementary Interschools Champion and Novice Interschools Reserve Champion at the Australian Youth Dressage Championships.

Riding her horse, Bella Tricks, Mia delivered an exceptional performance in the two Elementary classes, securing a first and second place to claim the Championship title. She then stepped up to the Novice level, earning a first and third across her two events to take out Reserve Champion honours.

The pair also competed in the Open Novice division, achieving a second and third place finish, narrowly missing the Australian Championship title on a countback — an impressive result against strong national competition.

Adding to her national success, Mia has continued her strong form in the Victorian Equestrian Interschool Series (VEIS). At Round 1 at Boneo on 7 February, she placed 2nd and 3rd in the two Elementary classes to finish 3rd overall in Elementary. At VEIS Round 2 on 27 February, she was crowned Reserve Champion Elementary, winning one class and placing fourth in the other.

We congratulate Mia on her dedication, composure and outstanding achievements, and wish her and Bella Tricks every success for the remainder of the season.
