Friday, 17 Apr 2026

Welcome to Term 2! I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable break and are ready for a busy and productive term ahead.

We begin straight away with Year 7-10 Parent Teacher Interviews on Monday. This is a great opportunity to reflect on learning progress and set goals for the term ahead. Classes resume on Tuesday.

A warm welcome to Mark Solari, who joins us in the Maths Department this term. Mark brings a wealth of experience and has recently returned to the border region after spending time in beautiful Tasmania. We also welcome back Learning Assistant Amanda Pyle.

A reminder that full Winter Uniform is now required, including blazers to and from school. School jumpers may be worn under blazers for additional warmth, or as the outer layer while students are on campus. Year 12 jumpers may be worn with uniforms only while inside school grounds and not when representing the school or attending formal events such as Assembly. Please refer to Page 4 of your diary for full uniform expectations.

Our ANZAC Day Ceremony for Years 3-12 will take place on Wednesday 22 April from 8.45–9:20am. Blazers will be required for this important occasion as we come together to show our respect.

I also look forward to seeing many of you at the ANZAC Day March down Dean Street. Students should gather at the corner of Macauley and Dean Streets in Learning Mentor groups by 8.45am on Saturday 25 April. Year 9 students are to meet out the front of Regent Cinema at 8.45am; Year 9 march as representatives of the 2/23 Battalion. Please remember that when marching down Dean Street, students are expected to remain silent and walk in orderly rows.

Other important events or activities this term include:

  • Year 12 Midcourse Exams- from Tuesday 28 April
  • School Photograph Day • Thursday 7 May
  • Mother's Day breakfast • Friday 8 May
  • National Boarding Week • starting Sunday 10 May
  • Athletics Carnival • Thursday 21 May
  • Year 10 Mid Year exams • from Tuesday 10 June
  • Music Festival • Wednesday 17 June

And, of course we are celebrating 160 Years of Scots and its founding schools this year. There will be a Back to School Alumni tour in the morning of Saturday 20 June and a special 160 Years Gala Dinner in the evening.

Wishing you all a fantastic start to Term 2 - it is definitely going to be a busy, but exciting, one.
